We usually have between six and twelve people come to each meeting. We now have four meetings a year, 10-3 with lunch together. Some members travel a long way to meetings and some in the farthest reaches may wish for something a little closer.
Our meetings take place at different hospices each time. Members lead discussions/do presentations on prepared subjects though much time is given to informal news sharing and discussion on any relevant issues.

The group is going well, with a good core of approximately six to eight of us. We meet three or four times a year, and have support / sharing experience / CPD type discussions. We have spent the last eighteen months or so visiting each other in situ which has been educative.

Some of the Midland Group, with guest speaker Revd Canon Georgina Byrne from Worcester Cathedral, at their March 2019 meeting.

We meet three times a year, usually from 10 to 3, at different venues.  We have over thirty people on our mailing list and we average ten to twelve at our meetings.

Please can you let Charlie know if you’re planning to attend, so that he can sort out numbers for lunch. Also, please advise him of any special dietary requirements you may have. Ideally, he could do with this information by 10th July. As usual, a donation to cover costs of £5 is invited.

We’re looking forward to hearing more about the work of Soul Midwives, facilitated by two of our own number – Catherine Hughes and Sheila Simmonds. If you want to whet your appetite take a look at: http://www.soulmidwives.co.uk.

Our programme may also include:

  • Reflection – meditation/ quiet moments led by Charlie Radburn.
  • Discussion – on spiritual assessment tools. (Clare Griffiths asked for this to be on the agenda but several of us would welcome a conversation on the subject.)
  • Tour – a chance to look around the Marie Curie Hospice.
  • Your news – time to share news, concerns etc., and offer one another encouragement.
  • ‘This worked for me’ – an opportunity to swap ideas/ resources/ approaches that you’ve found helpful. Please bring something to share with us if you can.

Do contact Keith if you have any queries or suggestions.
