I have been involved with the Northern Ireland Hospice chaplaincy service since 1996. I became the senior chaplain in 2002 with the responsibility of coordinating a dedicated team who offer pastoral, spiritual and religious support to all in Hospice. We also give the children’s hospice service chaplaincy support.
Before entering ministry I was a nurse for 18yrs. I have found these two experiences complement my work as a hospice chaplain. I am fulfilled in my ministry and I am sure, like many of you, I am both humbled and challenged with the privilege of being with people at this significant time of their lives.
I have been married to David since 1973 and we have one daughter, Ruth, who lives in England with her husband and two children. I enjoy being with family and friends, eating good food (David is a wonderful cook), walking Henry our Labrador, gardening, reading and listening to a variety of music.
What keeps me going when things are tough?.... ....The little phrase ‘And it came to pass.’
