Aims of the Association
Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains seek to:
- work within a multidisciplinary team committed to providing holistic care
- be proactive in assessing and meeting the complex spiritual and religious needs of patients, their families and carers
- discern and respect the cultural, spiritual and religious diversity of all patients, their families and carers
- ensure that all spiritual and religious care is patient-led and focused on the needs of individuals, their families and carers
In support of these aims, the Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains seeks to:
- identify and promote good practice
- be an agent of professional development
- provide professional support and fellowship
- promote links with the constituency of palliative care
- promote links with relevant church bodies and faith communities
